Western Vikings are deeply saddened to learn that current player Chris Fryer has passed away this week.
Having played with Vikings for the last couple of seasons, his favoured position was out on the wing but his team ethic saw him move anywhere in the back line as required. He was a keen supporter of community events, such as the Royal Show and Longboat Day, and was not afraid to give his opinion when it mattered. He always gave 100% and will be sadly missed. Our deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, and Vikings team-mates at this time.
Although the current situation means we cannot remember Chris in the way he deserves, we will undoubtedly be organising something in his memory when restrictions are lifted.
We would like to remind you all that although you may be in isolation, you are not isolated, and your club and team mates can help you through this difficult time. Take care and stay safe.
